Margined Leatherwing Beetle - Chauliognathus marginatus

Margined Leatherwing Beetle - Chauliognathus marginatus
Seven Valleys, York County, Pennsylvania, USA

Size: 1/2 inch
Margined Leatherwing Beetle on a Yukka bloom (1 of 2)...

Chauliognathus
You're right, this is a Soldier Beetle or Leather-winged Beetle. It is in the genus Chauliognathus. The dark band on the pronotum suggests this is Chauliognathus marginatus rather than the ubiquitous Chauliognathus pennsylvanicus.
