Sulphur butterfly - cloudless? - Phoebis sennae - Naples, Southwest Florida in Collier County, Florida, USA July 4, 2005 Size: 3 inches
I see these butterflies frequently but they are hard to photograph because they don't stay still. I caught this one emerging from its chrysalis, also pictured. I am fairly certain it is some kind of sulphur and assume Cloudless Sulphur but am having a hard time distinguishing. It was rather more green than some of the photos I see. We have senna trees in our yard so we get the whole life cycle and these are abundant around here.
