I think that this is a mosquitoe but it looks kind of different than others I've seen. I'd appreciate a confirmation that it is in fact a mosquitoe so that it can be safely moved to Culicidae . Thanks.

this is another Coquillettidia perturbans.

Mosquito
That is a female mosquito. Imagine it without the blood and you'll see the white bands or spots on the abdomen found in many species. Note also long proboscis and long hind legs held up.

Thank you (again) John for the information and ID confirmation. I was pretty sure it was a mosquito but I'd never seenthe hind legs held like that before and I'd never seen one with that much blood. It looks to be like this gal really gourged herself. Do they take blood from the same individual more than once within a short interval of time? That is, can one mosquito bite me multiple times? I'll move to Culicidae.
