Fly? - Eristalis arbustorum - male

Fly? - Eristalis arbustorum - Male
Silverton, Marion County, Oregon, USA
July 14, 2009
Size: 1/2 inch maybe
Was very small and again did not move much. I wondered if the early hour had anything to do with lack of movement. Resting on pond grasses over water. The legs are multi colored which I thought was interesting & pretty. Thanks for your help.

Syrphid fly.
Maybe in the genus Eristalis. Reminds me of this one:

Eristalis, seconded.
Species uncertain.
