Is this Tabanus?

I call this one "Three Worlds".

Always Amassed
I'm always amassed at all I find in my photos, that I didn't see when I shot it. BTW isn't Tabanus that have eyes that photo in wild colors? Your photos are excellent. Why not tell us on your profile page, about the equipment you use?

Thanks for the Generous Complement
Insect eyes really communicate. Tabanus has some wild colors but that's not exclusive to Tabanus: . My "equipment" is relatively lame. I've used a Fujifilm Finepix E550 for all my BugGuide images. My dad was a real photographer so maybe I have the gift, just not the gear.

We Are In Accord
I'd say you definitely have your Dad's gift. I've told friends complaining about their camera, "If you know what your doing, you can shot with a box camera." Some of my best photos were shot with old point'n'shoots.
