Cool Beetle! - Tenomerga cinerea

Cool Beetle! - Tenomerga cinerea
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
July 15, 2009
Size: 8.3 mm
I've taken to checking out the little bug bellies on my glass door before going outside with my camera, and found I didn't recognize this one. It's so heavily textured that the image on my camera looked almost like a cartoon. So after taking enough shots of the belly to make fairly certain I'd have a good one, I carefully opened the door to go get the top side. Turns out this beetle was very patient and, for all I know, is still there as I type this.

Nice! :D

Great, thanks to both!
I think this is the first reticulated beetle I've found. =)

i'd say
it's something in this family.
