Brown Waterscorpion - Ranatra fusca

Brown Waterscorpion - Ranatra fusca
Pack Forest (near Eatonville), Pierce County, Washington, USA
July 11, 2009
John Schimming and I tried to catch this little guy. Then lost sight of it. Then looked for it for 15 minutes. A little while later while I'm relating the tale to Peter, Roxanne takes a look in the pond and calls over her shoulder, "Would you like me to catch it. It's right here." Argh.

Pond behind the maintenance shed at the conference center. You can see little red mites all over it.
