Unknown Caterpillar - Acronicta oblinita

Unknown Caterpillar - Acronicta oblinita
Columbia, Boone County, Missouri, USA
July 17, 2009
Size: about 30 mm
Found this beauty out in a field crop. Lots of nice plants to eat- Tomato, cabbage, broccoli, pepper, pumpkin, etc. Any ideas? The closest thing I could find was a Gyp*sy moth, but there are some pretty major incongruencies between this and that. Thanks for your time!
