Julida?

Julida?
Bismarck, Burleigh County, North Dakota, USA
July 5, 2009
Size: Aprox 1.25 in or 32 mm
I found this millipede 12 miles south-east of Bismarck near the Missouri River in Burleigh County, ND. It was near some sparse "weeds" in sandy-soiled woods. I also find them in my house sometimes. It was fast and hard to photograph, and only rolled for a second if disturbed, then continued crawling. I think the order is Julida, family possibly Parajulidae or Blaniulidae, but I would like some more experienced opinions, and a more specific ID if possible. The full-size photo shows more detail.

I took the liberty of cropping your image down to 560 pixels on each side so the system won't have to shrink it to fit on the screen (most contributors don't have access to the full-size version except for their own images).

If you disagree, feel free to click "edit", then "browse" to upload your original file like you did the first time.

Thanks! That helps a lot, ac
Thanks! That helps a lot, actually. I'm on a pretty old computer right now and don't have any photo-editing software at all.
