Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus) - Papilio troilus - male

Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus) - Papilio troilus - Male
Burlington Township, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
July 18, 2009
I think this is a Spicebush Swallowtail (Papilio troilus) - not sure male or female. Assistance appreciated. This is my first spicebush of the season 8:)

ps. thanks David for the gender ID!

it's a male
You can clearly see where the claspers are on the tip of the (slender) abdomen, even if they are a bit out of focus.

Definitely
Spicebush. The missing orange spot on median spotband is a clincher for this species. Sex is best determined with a dorsal shot, I believe.
