Dragonfly Larvae 2

Dragonfly Larvae 2
Weare, New Hampshire, USA
August 22, 2005
Size: 1.5 in
This specimen was found inthe same stream as my previously posted larvae, but of completely different character.

These specimens uder no circumstances, when picked up, could be made to move. They looked like little dead twigs. I finally got one in this semi-active pose by putting it back inthe water, waiting till it started walking on a stick, and then picking up the stick.

the dark color (and poor lighting) make it hard to discern much features but Im hoping someone can get this to genus at least.

Thanks for all the help
