Size: BL = 4mm
She laid eggs over night, constructing a web and egg sac at the mouth of a small specimen vial I had her in.

Hmmm, I was thinking that perhaps it's an Enoplognatha species. What about plain ol' Enoplognatha ovata?

Well, interesting black spots or not, I'm giving up for now and will wait until you've looked at the epigyne.

I tried that
I tried that, but Enoplognatha has a large colulus; this spider doesn't have one at all. It definitely keys out to Theridion.

Hi, John-

Any ideas as to possible species? I don't really know the "pale" theridiids that well.

Not so far
I haven't found anything like it yet. Those black spots on either side of the spinnerets might help. They certainly stand out. Now that it has laid eggs and the abdomen has returned to normal size, its yellow coloration is easier to see. I've put up two more pictures taken without flash that, I believe, show the true colors.

Ah! I hadn't noticed those. Perhaps Levy mentions something like that (somehow they seem to ring a bell).
