Spotted this clumsily hopping about on the rocks near the water at Great Falls.

Confirmed.
Single, deep notch in pronotum (top of thorax) is pretty diagnostic.

This is a nymph and looks similar to a Hooded Grouse Locust - Paratettix cucullatus. Please wait for an expert for confirmation.
