Size: large honey bee size
Thought it was a small hummingbird moth since it hovered and nectered in a similar manner. Then noticed the eyes.

Yep, that's the fly. Pretty shot. These guys are gorgeous when freshly minted. They seem to last a long time as adults and can show a lot of wear. Some will be rubbed down to a bare grey shell and still flying.
