Sachem - Atalopedes campestris - Male
Stafford, Stafford County, Virginia, USA

My guess is that it may be a male Sachem Skipper, Atalopedes campestris. Looks similar to images in guide. Image captured in field of thick vegetation and wildflowers. Help with ID appreciated.

I agree, male Sachem (Atalopedes campestris). Nice photo, really shows the details well.

I have about a 1/2 dozen of them in my garden. They really harass the females with swooping pounces until the females finally relent.

Wow! Great capture, Jeff. That is so neat seeing them together. Appreciate your help with ID.
