Moved from ID Request. Wonderful photograph!

Lagocheirus
L. obsoletus (Thomson), a Texas-Mexico-Central American species accidentally introduced into Hawaii where it has become a pest of plumeria. It has also been known as L. undatus (Voet) and as far as I know it will be called that again. It is a new species to BugGuide. As such, even though it is of an exotic specimen the species is native to the U.S. and I think the photo should be retained.

Beetle/Plumeria
Michael Thomas,

I find it interesting that this beetle was found a mere 15 feet from my pink plumeria after your description of a habitat.

Thank you so much,

Barbara Bert
