Lappet moth, Phyllodesma americana
The species has other color forms, too; there's no clear dorsal photo of this color form on the Guide, but compare these:




Yours looks exactly like the one in David Wagner's Caterpillars of Eastern North America, p. 228, although I can't exactly hyperlink my book :-) (There's a BugGuide page about it here, though).
