Hololena sp.?
Hi, Ken,

Looks like Hololena to me. What do you think?

A belated thanks, John -
how would I confirm the genus with an immature? Or is the color pattern definitive?

Hmmm, good question
Hi, Ken,

I was going by the basic body pattern, coloration and the short spinnerets. According to SONA the genus depends on the structure of the palp, so I suppose my recommendation is just a "best guess." The coloration looks a lot like the pictures of adult specimens Kevin collected in LA last spring.

Thanks, John -
this goes back to the ubiquitous issue on Bug Guide of "how sure do you have to be before you move it further...". :) I'd prefer to wait until I collect a mature spider from the same population, but I have no problem with moving this image to genus if folks with more experience with this family are convinced.
