Judging by the images already posted there's quite a bit of variability in this larva's coloration. I'm basing the ID of Eight-spotted Forester on its similarity to Troy's picture (below),

and this one in Caterpillars of Eastern Forests.

After seeing Jeff's recent post
and revisiting the discussions around A.wittfeldii, do you think we should move this image to the other species page??

 
If Richard Gilmore is right,
this can't be A. octomaculata since it's south of the range for that sp. so I agree - let's move it to A. wittfeldii. I've also updated the guide page to include the range info.
