Caterpillar - Eacles imperialis

Caterpillar - Eacles imperialis
Stafford, Stafford County, Virginia, USA
September 9, 2005
Found on Norway Spruce. Looks similar to images in the guide and on the net of the Imperial moth caterpillar. Tentative because it is so hairy and brown, not orange or green. Confirmation or correction appreciated.

Certainly looks like
Eacles to us. Wagner (1) page 232 has 4 images in four different colors!

Thank You
For the confirmation.

Beautiful shot, Joanne!
You captured the details perfectly!

Thank You, Hannah
Joanne
