Variation #1 on Blue and Orange Bug - Calopteron terminale

Variation #1 on Blue and Orange Bug - Calopteron terminale
Baton Rouge - BREC Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
July 28, 2009
Size: 1 to 1.5 inches
Have seen several variations of this bug in July.
I will post another shortly.

This one seems to have damage to its wings (Or is it wing covers?)
Damage to each is quite symmetrical.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

another Calopteron terminale
they're quite variable, but the bluish tinge and the depression across the elytra give this one out
(wing covers are modified 1st pair of wings -- and, indeed, they're badly damaged in this individual)

Not an expert but...
Lycus lateralis?
