Luna Moth with emerald wings. - Actias luna - Male
Gatlinburg in the Smokie Mountains, Sever County, Tennessee, USA
July 16, 2009
Size: 3.5"
Enjoying the early evening sounds of the rain forest what we thought at first was a bat because of the size, this celestial moth, the grandest ever personally witnessed flew past us and into the light of the mountain cabin in the woods above Gatlinburg, TN. The emerald green of his translucent wings was amazing!
