Wolf spider one, bee zero - Arctosa
Great Beach Hill, Great Island, Cape Cod National Seashore, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, USA
July 25, 2009
Stopped to rest on the three mile trail to Great Beach Hill, and noticed this mid-size wolf spider had killed a honeybee on the dune. Talk about camouflage....

Evolution
Oh that is so cool. I've yet to post the spider I saw skittering around beneath the seaweed on the beach. Indistinguishable form the old sea detritus. Not a pretty spider, but amazing as I considered the eons of time required for the adaptation. Your spider's camouflage is amazing.
