whirligig beetle - Dineutus based on size, species ?
There was a pair of these making a lot of contact. One was black, and the other more goldish colored. The pics are of the more gold colored one. I assume it was male and female, but don't know which is which. The gold one was slightly smaller.

species ? Dineutus discolor ?
Thanks for the genus confirm.
Guide says there are 41 Dineutus. I wonder what the diagnostic features are. I see some Dineutus discolor that appear to have some similar coloring, but maybe there's a bunch of species with similar coloring. ;)
