Robber Fly ? - Efferia - Female
Burbank, Union County, South Dakota, USA

Size: about 1 inch long
First found inside a bird nesting box, in the middle of a small brome grass meadow. Fairly tame, it came out and posed on the wall of the box, continually moving the end of its ovipositor over the surface.
