One-eyed Sphinx Moth - Smerinthus cerisyi

One-eyed Sphinx Moth - Smerinthus cerisyi
Placerville, El Dorado County, California, USA
July 30, 2009
I took the photo that shows the eyes while still outdoors (late evening, shining a flashlight at the moth for light).
When dark had fallen and the moth seemed only inclined to sleep, I brought it indoors and did a couple of sketches.
The second photo (two crops of it) show the moth near its portraits.
