Jay, first off, fantastic photo!
I looked through Bousquet and Larochelle’s 1993 catalog of Geadephaga in NA and there are four species of Elaphrus in Ohio, Elaphrus (Elaphrus) californicus, Elaphrus (Elaphrus) ruscarius, Elaphrus (Neoelaphrus) cicatricosus, and Elaphrus (Neoelaphrus) clairvillei. See all four species here
I have ruled out Elaphrus cicatricosus, and Elaphrus clairvillei because of their appearance. That leaves Elaphrus californicus and Elaphrus ruscarius. According to Goulet’s key to Elaphrus, E. californicus has three to seven white setae on the subapical portion of the hind femur, whereas E. ruscarius does not. Looking at your photo, I can see about five setae on the subapical portion of the hind femur, so I would say that the Elaphrus in your photo is E. californicus.

Awesome!
Very much appreciated, Chris. Californicus must be right from what you're saying. Thanks for taking the time to look at these!
