Thank you. I'll investigate further. Is their a key or reference for bumblebees of the NW that might include my area? I'm having difficulty using the key on Discover Life.

I'm also having great difficulties with these wonderful creatures. I've got about 3-4 different bumbles that frequent my yard every year, and it's hard for me to accept that I can't key them out all the way!!

The site (& key) listed above have been a little bit helpful, but not as much as I'd hoped. Hopefully they'll do more for you!

Agree with your comments. I think one might need a bee in hand and an extended key. I have more pictures of different individuals from different angles, but not sure just which pictures to submit. I'm just a beginner at this, but I think it's important and, equally, most interesting.
