Hatched eggs underneath sycamore leaf from Kanawha State Forest, Charleston, WV
Kanawha State Forest, Kanawha County, West Virginia, USA
July 31, 2009
Size: c. 0.5 mm
I found these (along with these and several others) on the bottom of a sycamore leaf from a tree in the small parking lot at the main-gate side of Spotted Salamander Trail, Kanawha State Forest, Charleston, Kanawha County, WV. They had already hatched when I saw them. Each egg was about 0.5 mm. They were all laid in a single straight row about 50 mm long right down one of the rigid veins / sub-ribs.
