Size
4.5 mm
Identification
Recognized among species of Ceratocapsus lutescens group by:
1) Clavus and middle of corium clothed with silky or tomentose pubescence intermixed with simple, erect, semierect or pilose setae;
2) Dorsum with only shorter, more recumbent setae; and
3) Length 4.5 mm or more, general color fuscous to black, head often paler with a reddish tinge, antennae dark reddish brown to fuscous. (2)

"Resembles dark forms of modestus but readily distinguished by the type of pubescence; scutellum, and basal half of hemelytra bearing closely appressed, sericeous or scale-like pubescence." (3)
