Elaphrus olivaceus
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen. Image fits species well. Smaller than E. clairvillei. A new county record for Wisconsin. Thanks Jeff.

Thanks
Thanks Peter.

Best initial guesses
are "Elaphrus olivaceus" vs "Elaphrus clairvillei" - both rare in WI. I look forward to doing a microscopic confirmation. Jeff, thanks for your plans but boo hoo on the "~.5in" remark. (consoling smiley face here)

sweet
I think this is the first Elaphrus I've seen in WI. I'll fix the length once I process the specimen (next rainy day?). The "~.5in" remark is my quick field estimate. Sorry :-)
