Spirit Mound Historic Prairie near Vermillion, SE South Dakota, Clay County, South Dakota, USA
July 21, 2009
Size: about 1 inch long
Large solitary wasp digging a burrow in the hard-trodden ground at the summit of the mound, about 8:00 PM.
