Large Dragonfly with clear wings - Anax junius

Large Dragonfly with clear wings - Anax junius
Middleton, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 6, 2009
I found this dragonfly in the morning around 6:30, in the grass. I think it may have been injured because it didn't fly away when I picked it up with a stick. It was moving around on the stick and slowly moving its wings. I know nothing about dragonfly species but I thought it was neat so I'd like to know what it is. Thanks!

A green darner, I think
Based mostly on the CBS-eye-style logo in front, plus size and beefy thorax. This is a teneral, which means it's newly emerged and not ready for heavy-duty motion yet. The blood is starting to enter the wings, which go from almost transparent into relatively dark. Color of the eyes and body will also become more vivid.
