Fly - Graphomya

Fly - Graphomya
Pittsburg, Coos County, New Hampshire, USA
September 12, 2005
Size: 7-8mm
The abdomen was checkered with white spots. It flew off before I could get another shot showing the abdomen. The wing has a curved vein something like a syrphid, but it doesn't look like one.

Muscidae: Graphomya sp.
Looks just like our Graphomya in the collection. Of course there could be some other genus that is close that I don't know about.

Looks good
I found a couple of sites 1 2 with pictures that have the same look, and the wing veins are the same too.
