This green and black bug kept running away under the beach plants. It seems to have wings but did not attempt to fly. Thanks for your help....Denise

are out hunting for spiders!

Someone will be able to tell you if yours is similar or not.

 
Right family....
It is indeed a pompilid, but I'm leaning toward Evagetes for the genus. Something in that Pompilinae subfamily at any rate. Interesting....Any other images you have of this specimen?

I've added one more pic...but it looks pretty much the same.

Looks like
a wasp or bee of some type. I'm not familiar with western species.
