Rainbow Grasshopper - Dactylotum bicolor - female

Rainbow Grasshopper - Dactylotum bicolor - Female
Northeast of Sierra Vista, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 5, 2009
Gravelly hills above the San Pedro River; covered with White-thorn Acacia, Creosote and Velvet Mesquite. Abundant here, the majority were nymphs.

Great shot.
Pardon if I'm accidentally insulting you, but you know that the adults are wingless, too, right?

Appreciate
the reply, Eric!
Adults have short wings and there are photos of them here at the BugGuide.
