Moth - Polia nimbosa

Moth - Polia nimbosa
Pack Forest (near Eatonville), Pierce County, Washington, USA
July 12, 2009
Very similar to John's Stormy Arches:

but not identical. Is it just another Stormy Arches?

Why?
Why frassed?

duplicate
of John Davis' species from the same gathering. It's a different individual, so if we don't have a lot of pics of this species, I'm happy to unfrass it, but as a general rule, if John already has a moth represented from the 2009 Bug Guide Gathering, I'm not going to duplicate the entry. What do you think?

Keep
I think as long as it's a different individual, it should be kept.

respectfully disagree
There are only 14 images of this species, so I will unfrass. However, if there is already a record for a given state and month for a particular species, and the existing picture is as good or better, then I don't see any reason to add a new pic unless the new individual has an interesting color variation or is exhibiting some interesting behavior of some sort...

Misunderstood
I didn't mean in regard to BG as a whole, but in regard to your and John's photos from the gathering.

Does this mean...
that this IS a Stormy Arches?

Yes
I've been working on the unplaced moths and moving large numbers of photos, so it's been quicker to allow the implication of the move to species level to serve as an ID (or confirmation) than to leave a comment on every single image. My apologies for causing any confusion.
