Dogbane Beetle? - Chrysochus auratus
Great Falls Park, Montgomery County, Maryland, USA
August 9, 2009
Size: 1 cm
Found three on a persimmon tree sapling in Great Falls Park July 30th; kept this one until I could get pictures of it in the sun, since flash made the colors wrong.

Yes.
Chrysochus auratus is highly variable in coloration anyway.
