"Black Witch" - Ascalapha odorata - Male

Size: 6 in.
This Black Witch moth arrived at my house and lingered around for several hours during the late afternoon and evening on a very hot summer day in Texas. It's the first one I've ever seen in the area, and I've been here for over 20 years -- a very interesting surprise!
