Size: with legs maybe 1.5"
Would love to know what species this is. It was next to the wall of a tumbling down building in the old mining village of Adirondac.

This is a lovely image, just at a horrible angle to try and make an identification. It is an orb weaver, family Araneidae, but even getting to genus is impossible without at least a dorsal (top side) shot.

Actually, I have one other shot, but it's the same pose and angle. Bummer. I was hoping the two dots on the abdomen would be a good clue! Oh, well...thanks for trying!!!
