Geometridae
Maybe Cingilia catenaria, and if so, a new genus and species for BugGuide.

Chain-dotted Geometer
I got the following note from Tony Thomas.
David

Hi David,

Your moth is a Chain-dotted Geometer, Cingilia catenaria. This species can reach pest status in sphagnum bogs here in New Brunswick; the larvae completely defoliating the low-growing woody shrubs in the bogs.

Apparently this moth can become a pest in some areas. In other areas of its range, it's a species of Special Concern. I found lots of info on the web and added it to the Guide page.
