I got some good flight shots, but what a ghastly, putrid, stomach-turning experience as these beetles regurgitated their most recent repast during their efforts to escape.

It took me a while to figure out the position of the elitra. They must have some remarkable hinges to rotate them that way.

I was impressed. By that time I had taken flight photos of a dozen or more species, and none held their elytra in that position.
