Horsefly species? (DIN161)
Riverbend Park, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA

Size: 11/2 inches or so
Photos taken on car windshield; very large fly that banged into the windshield and I think was stunned. Stayed for about 5 minutes. Would appreciate specific ID if possible. Also including front view.
