White-striped Tiger Beetle - Parvindela lemniscata

White-striped Tiger Beetle - Parvindela lemniscata
Red Rock Canyon, near Patagonia, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
August 8, 2009
Size: 7.3mm

Moved

Cicindela lemniscata (nominate)
confirmed by my in-hand examination. Carabid authorities Pearson, Erwin, Lorenz, and others have now moved its subgenus name, Cylindera, to genus status. To avoid confusion at BugGuide I recommend staying traditional. Thanks Tom

Should now be "Cylindera lemniscata"
based on subsequent intense discussions/agreements here at BugGuide to keep currrent with the recent taxonomic changes in the tiger beetle literature in which several subgenera were elevated to genus status. If you don't mind John, please change back to genus "Cylindera". Thanks. I should have edited earlier my obsolete comment above.

I put a comment in the forum topic asking for one of the tiger beetle people to make the change if warranted.(1) I didn't change the genus of this one. I only created a subspecies page.

Thanks Harry
Moved from Tiger Beetles.
