Numerous beetles were congregating on disc flowers of composites in grassy old field, including Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus, pictured here) and nearby cup-plants (Silphium perfoliatum).

Yes
The images in the BG gallery appear identical. According to the Info tab, the pale green ones are this species or another restricted to the SW United States. Iowa is squarely in the range of D. barberi... and there is lots of corn nearby! Thank you for your help.
