...
I think it is an An. punctipennis. I was confused because the basal portions of the costa looked too light-colored. I think it is just that they are a little washed out.

Thanks!
Yeah - my camera has a hard time with bugs in dark places... Appreciate your help!

Moved
Moved from Anopheles franciscanus.

Sorry - prematurely moved to species page based on tentative ID. Will leave at genus page until you've had time to look at these... I was not able to collect this mosquito and don't have more images, unfortunately.

I will try to get to the bott
I will try to get to the bottom of this one. I do not have access to a collection anymore, so it is a little bit more tedious now. It just doesn't look like punctipennis to me, but that could be because it is overexposed. I doubt it could be pseudopuntipennis. Range does not agree. I will let you know.

I need to hold off on confirm
I need to hold off on confirming that ID. It is a bit overexposed...I will move it to the genus page for now. Thanks for making the species page!

?
what is this? It looks to me like Anopheles franciscanus. or Anopheles pseudopunctipennis. I do not have much experience with the western anopheles...I am getting to this one....
By the way, it definitely is Anopheles.

Moved
Moved from Flies. Thanks, John - I wasn't completely sure of the family, but I guess you are confirming that level...

Move to family
The mosquito experts notice mosquitoes more often if they are posted to the family page.
