Fairly large and sluggish Acrididid with interesting coloration; large, thick abdomen (female?) Gender/species?

Painted meadow grasshopper.
Adult, short-winged female of Chimarocephala pacifica that is also missing at least one hind leg. Nice image, not the best of specimens.
