comments for guide--Manduca
I'm trying to figure out what I might be looking at under lights here in NC, so am doing a bit of research.
NCSU Entomology:
http://inventory.ent.ncsu.edu/tree/dsp_species.cfm?genusName=Manduca
lists the following specimens for North Carolina, with number pinned:
jasminearum--Ash Sphinx (8), quinquemaculata--Five-spotted hawkmoth (56), rustica--Rustic Sphinx (30), sexta--Carolina Sphinx (113).
Nearctica.com:
http://www.nearctica.com/nomina/lepid/lepr-z.htm#anchor442352
lists 9 North American species in genus.
