Linear-winged Grasshopper - Aptenopedes sphenarioides - male

Linear-winged Grasshopper - Aptenopedes sphenarioides - Male
Lady Lake, Lake County, Florida, USA

Moved to guide
Hope you don't mind--I moved these to a new guide for the species and labeled them with the common name given by Capinera (1), and also labelled them male and female based on the plates in Capinera's other work (2)--they seem to be a precise match for the photos of each sex there.

Thank you again,
I appreciate your help on these.

Looks like male Aptenopedes
OK, it does look like the male Linearwinged Grasshopper, Aptenopedes sphenarioides, as you mentioned. Capineara, Grasshoppers of Florida (1)--you quoted the on-line version, says that this resembles Hesperotettix osceola, but the latter has short wings while Aptenopedes has no wings at all. That looks correct, based on your photo.

That's all for what my opinion's worth--I am just looking at the field guide. (It's worth getting if you don't have it--photos are really good.)

Your other photo does look like the female, IMHO:
