Pupa - Cryptolaemus montrouzieri

Pupa - Cryptolaemus montrouzieri
Alameda County, California, USA
August 8, 2009
Size: 3/8 in. (10 mm)
Found August 8, immobile and attached to underside of wilting potato leaf. It looked just like a larva of this species but was the biggest one I'd seen. Kept until the adult emerged, late afternoon on August 26. Unfortunately, the adult flew out a window before I could get a photo. It was black with a reddish head. Estimated size, 5 mm.
